How to Look Racist Online
Have you ever noticed how difficult it could be to properly communicate your meaning through text? How easy context could be lost when sharing a written message as opposed to a spoken reply. Well some people have the opposite problem. And by people I am referring to G^2 and the Marvel Rivals team. I cannot say I understand the inner machinations and the work being done behind the scenes with the team. One thing I do see is that they are struggling to keep the community together. Yes, it is not their job to police the behavior of their playerbase, however it is their duty to set the standard and to dictate which behaviors are accepted and which are not. That being said they are not doing a good enough job at preventing anger and hate from festering within the community.
The Keeper’s Origins
The Good: Speeches, good characterization
The Bad: Lack of stakes (important people wouldn’t die), unimportant side stories (elves are used only for convenience).
The Ugly: Nonsensical Magic system, transition to epic (small potatoes -> gigantic potatoes)
Cyberpunk 2077: The game that scoured my soul
This game… What can I say about this game? I guess I should start with my bias towards this game. Back when it was announced in 2018 I was hooked. Not with the graphic fidelity of the game or how the sun rays were traced. The story, the idea of turning Cyberpunk Red into a video game had me hooked. Back then I was only entering the DnD, pathfinder, or ttrpg sphere. I was still learning about different systems. I was just getting into Trans-humanism when Cyberpunk 2077 blew my mind. I was honestly obsessed with the game. I had to play the game. I had to play it so bad that I even forestalled my plans to log out of the world early. I had told myself that if this game came out and the story was awful that I would want Lenny to tell me about the rabbits. Considering this post is being written the game met my expectations. For some, I saw the game ran poorly and for others the game didn’t even start working. However, for myself, the game ran fine enough. It was stable enough to work as a medium for the story of cyberpunk to be shoveled down my throat. And man was I gluttonous. I absorbed that story as if my life depended on it. Which is some respect, it did.
